Cura Community was founded by Mishwa Bhavsar, a software engineer and researcher passionate about bridging technology, empathy, and public health and Alexis Aranda-Hernandez. Inspired by her grandmother’s experience in a nursing home, she created Cura to connect students with clinics and elders through compassion-driven action.
Under her leadership, the team now includes undergraduate volunteers, community health mentors, and research partners dedicated to building sustainable, student-powered health initiatives that make care more human and equitable.
At Cura Community, our culture is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and curiosity. We believe that meaningful change begins with listening—to patients, mentors, and one another. Every member, from student volunteers to clinic partners, contributes ideas and compassion equally. We celebrate learning, value reflection, and lead with kindness as we work toward making healthcare more human and inclusive.
